Waco Rowing Center offers a competitive youth rowing program that prepares Waco-area athletes to race at a high level and pursue college rowing and scholarship opportunities.

Athletes train year-round with experienced coaches in a structured, supportive environment focused on consistency, teamwork, and long-term development.

Our coaching staff brings proven experience from top junior programs nationwide. While the program in Waco is growing, our coaches have a strong track record of helping athletes get recruited to college rowing.

Adult Rowing

Whether you’ve never touched an oar or you’re returning to the sport, Waco Rowing Center offers adult rowing programs built around fitness, connection, and shared goals.

Our Learn-to-Row program is the perfect starting point for beginners—no experience required, just a willingness to try something new. From there, rowers can continue with our Adult Development Team, which practices on weekends, trains together under experienced coaching, and offers opportunities to race, or choose an Adult Membership for independent rowing with full access to our boats and facilities.

Rowing is a demanding, full-body workout—but it’s also a social sport. Our adult program brings together people who value staying active, challenging themselves, and building real connections on the water and beyond. Whether your goal is fitness, competition, or community, there’s a place for you here.

Regattas

Waco has a blend of racing venues that is unique in the region.

The Brazos River offers miles of rowable water for both racing and training. The shoreside parks and downtown location make this an ideal setting for long distance “Head” races.

Nearby Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir is equipped with a 10-lane, 2,000 meter, fully buoyed sprint race course. Housed at McLennan County Park, the venue offers the only championship race course in the state of Texas, and is well-suited to host championship-level racing.
